“Let THEM eat cake!” ~ Marie Antoinette.
“Yo-yo dieting? I’d rather have my weight go up and down than up and up.” ~ LA Life Coach.
Are you ready to lose weight LA Life Coach style?! Allow me to re-phrase: Are you ready to gain the body of your dreams?!
The weight loss plan below is simply my “How To Achieve Anything Through Focus And Discipline” methodology applied to the topic of losing weight. If you have the guts to keep on reading and can take the truth, start now to prepare yourself mentally. I’m going to challenge your dearly held beliefs about dieting and weight loss. Keep an open mind and don’t rush to judgment. If you don’t believe what I’m telling you then ask yourself how well your previous weight loss efforts have worked. Either you didn’t lose weight at all or you did and then it all came back later after you “went off your diet”. Otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this. The main thing to get right now is that I’m trying to CHANGE HOW YOU THINK about your body, not put you on my pet diet d’jour.
Unless you have been reading a lot of underground, alternative weight loss literature, everything you believe about losing weight is probably wrong! That’s because most of the mainstream diet and weight loss literature is propaganda corrupted by the big agriculture and pharmaceutical industries. And I understand that it can be confusing because there are contradictory theories out there of how to lose weight.
First of all I am not a doctor. Who the fuck said you had to be a doctor to know how to lose weight? Oh! Doctors came up with that brainwashing to help protect their medical monopoly! I’m not giving you weight loss or medical advice. As a life coach, I don’t really give advice at all. I just ask questions and provide information to help you achieve your goals. I’m just sharing my weight loss experience, what works for me and what I have learned about dieting over the years. If you read this article and enjoy it or even try some of the weight loss strategies that worked for me then please feed the kitty by buying some of the self-help items on the self-improvement Shopping Mall here.
If you want to check my weight loss wisdom against what doctors say, then browse some of the weight loss and diet books displayed at the bottom of this page. You will find that there’s shitloads of scientific evidence to support the diet methodology that I am describing. I suggest you get checked out by a holistic physician before you attempt any diet plan.
This weight loss e-book will be a living document but I wanted to get it to you while you’re still alive and before the white-coated drug pushers addict you to their witchcraft. So I will go back and add references later. In the meantime, if you want research to support what I’m saying scroll down and check out the weight loss books below. They are all good diet books that are currently popular on Amazon.com. Find a book that fits you, your weight loss goals and beliefs and then help us both out by purchasing it.
Over the years I have learned how to lose weight faster and easier by identifying certain basic principles that make losing weight attainable for all people no matter how overweight you are. I said “easier”, not “easy”. “Easier than what?” you ask. Easier than ineffective weight loss methods. If you apply effective weight loss principles you will gain metabolic advantages that will make your weight loss more productive per drop of sweat equity. Weight loss is easier if you apply the basic principles that I will teach you here. Weight loss is more about what’s in your head than what’s in your stomach.
The diet plan here is about applying the “Accomplishment Principles” of focus and discipline to getting the body of your dreams. I’m talking about decision, dedication, consistency, commitment and an INTENSE DESIRE TO CHANGE. You have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone, but you will not be uncomfortable. I promise you that it will be hard work but you will not be hungry. You have to enthusiastically embrace the idea that you are going to change how you think, not just what you think. Plan wholeheartedly to completely overhaul your perception of your body, food and physical activity. You are not fat because you eat too much. You are fat because your attitude is fucked up and you’re ignorant about how your mind and body work together synergistically. Fortunately attitude and ignorance can be fixed if you have an intense desire to change.
But if you are looking for a magic weight loss pill or some secret formula that will allow you lose weight and still continue your lard ass lifestyle then you have come to the wrong place. THERE IS NO MAGIC WEIGHT LOSS PILL! That’s bullshit! Quit looking for an easy way out. What you need is an attitude overhaul, not merely an adjustment. I sympathize that you have been conditioned your entire life by propaganda that tells you that if you buy the right product it will make you lose weight. It’s understandable that your mind has been programmed to seek a quick diet fix in our instant gratification society. But now it is time for you to take responsibility. You may even be afraid. That’s ok. Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is acting positively in the presence of fear. So don’t read anymore of this until you are ready to take control your own destiny.
Let’s start re-programming your mind by making your vocabulary honest. Otherwise you are just lying to yourself. Quit minimizing your chronic overweight problem by describing yourself with terms like “curvy”, “bbw”, “big”, “a few extra pounds”, etc. Cut the crap! I’m calling bullshit on all that. When you minimize you are not taking responsibility. So how could you expect anything to change?
Don’t tell yourself that you are “going on a diet”. That whole mindset is weak and a formula for failure. That’s how you got fat. Instead tell yourself that you are re-programming your mind and permanently altering your perception. Once you have overhauled the way you think positive action will follow naturally. You won’t be relying on willpower. Willpower is a lousy basis for weight loss. Instead as you create a seismic shift in your VALUE SYSTEM, nothing but the healthy lifestyle that maintains the dynamic body of your dreams will make sense to you.
“Free your mind and your ass will follow.” ~ Parliament-Funkadelic.
Personally I have lost hundreds of pounds of fat by dieting over my lifetime. I have tried most every weight loss plan on the planet and have had success with every one of them. I have never NOT lost weight when I wanted to lose weight. Sometimes people talk about “yo-yo dieting” and how it’s not good for you to have your weight go up and down. My answer to that is “I’d rather have my weight go up and down than up and up!”. Because you get busted “yo-yo dieting”, does that mean you should just give up and not try again? Don’t fall for that kind of self-defeating bullshit! And don’t keep on kicking yourself in the ass when you fall. Expect it. Yeah, you want to keep the fat off permanently but sometimes we all get off track. The trick is to get back up and start walking right away when you fall.
I’m usually in excellent shape as I am now but it requires constant vigilance and a fitness lifestyle. Not to brag, but rather to inspire you; at 57 years old I’m a regular freakin’ Jack LaLane for my age. I have been working out and studying nutrition for most of my life. So these are weight loss war stories from the trenches and diet wisdom that I have built up over the last 44 years, not some bullshit theory from some ivory tower doc who wasn’t taught shit about nutrition or body mass control in medical school and thinks drugs are the answer.
Yes, I had my first significant weight loss when I was 13 years old. That was when I first shed my baby fat. I was never obese, but I was always “pudgy”, “husky”, “big boned” and all the other politically correct bullshit terms that people use to politely tell you that you are fat. Finally, thank God hormones kicked in and I wanted chicks to like me so I lost the weight and started developing the awesome, carved physique that I bear today.
Why am I telling you all this? Because I didn’t know crap about dieting then and I still got results that lasted. All I did was avoid fattening snack foods and eat less regular food. I even kept growing normally during this time. My exercise regimen was just as clueless. Nevertheless, I lost about 25 pounds at age 13! So how did I do it? The same way you get any major accomplishment: by capitalizing on an intense desire that drives action. You have to really WANT NOT TO LOSE WEIGHT, BUT RATHER TO GAIN THE BODY OF YOUR DREAMS and then decide to get it. Weight loss and fitness are 80% desire, focus and discipline and 20% diet methodology or diet plan.
So here’s another way to reprogram your mind. Think in terms of fitness, not dieting. Fitness is more about GAINING the dream body that you intensely desire, rather than losing weight. Focus on gaining what you want, not losing. More on that later.
I started studying Tae Kwon Do at age 15. By the time I was 16 and in 10th grade, I got my black belt and taught part-time after school. In high school, my friend Chris Blades and I were known as the “karate guys”. When I was 16 another kid at school, John Lara came up to me in front of Dairy Queen and said “You used to be a smooth person, but now you are a veiney person.” When he said that to me he confirmed something that I already knew. That in the 3 years since I was a husky kid I had made a total body transformation. That was the first time I had the body of my dreams. That experience made it all the easier to visualize on subsequent instances.
Oh and before I forget again, for you bitches who think you’re hot shit, well, you are. Keep seeing the value in that and preserve it relentlessly like a precious treasure. Because if you don’t it will quickly fade away. And I’m here to tell you that this LA Diet is for you too because “fat” is a state of mind. That goes for you male bitches who think you’re hot too. It’s all a matter of your own perspective whether you see yourself fat at 10 lbs overweight or 100. And this especially applies to you because the last 10 lbs are the hardest to lose.
I remember I was 16 when I first looked in the mirror and saw veins in my lower abdomen. I stood there for a few minutes and relished the moment. That was the holy fucking grail! That was my reward that day, not a bowl of ice cream. It made it all worth it. It was priceless. Again, not to toot my own horn here but this LA Diet e-book is about my own experience and this is it. And the lesson here that I learned is visualization. Once I saw my dream body in 3-D reality on this physical plane; the vision of it became locked into my consciousness. A neural pathway was connected. It was then easier to visualize it in the future whenever it needed a refresher.
I started teaching TKD and strength training professionally when I got out of high school at age 18. In my 20′s I taught martial arts and strength training at a major fitness chain in San Diego. I was one of the original “personal trainers” although that term wasn’t coined yet and I personally coached thousands of clients.
But there were periods where I got off track and started to get fat again; like when I started college or when I got married or had kids or got a divorce. You know the drill. You go through a major life change and then you try to adapt to it by letting your focus and discipline slide. Personally, I am susceptible to comfort eating. Think before you eat. Slow down, pause and say to yourself ”Why am I putting this food in my mouth?” While you are trying to cut fat the answer should always be “because I am hungry”, not because I am stressed or seeking comfort from food. © Copyright 2012.
